How Adidas Boost's Biggest Fan Became the 'BoostGod'

Sole Collector's 'Full Size Run' sits down with Adidas superfan "BoostGod."

It's been a monumental two years of growth for Adidas in the footwear market, mostly due to the success of its Boost cushioning technology. Boost is the foundation for popular models like the Ultra Boost, Pure Boost, Yeezy Boost and NMD, all shoes that have helped Adidas set new growth records month-after-month.

Teddy Safarian is an artist / vlogger more commonly known as "BoostGod" on social media. He's turned his passion for all-things-Boost into a successful Youtube channel and profitable business, the latter of which has given him the opportunity to travel across the country to open pop-up shops for custom merchandise. Today, he sold out of product during an appearance at New York's Rime.

Before he handled his business, Teddy stopped by our sneaker-themed talk show, Full Size Run, to tell us exactly how he became "BoostGod." He explained that he was previously a big fan of the Nike Skateboarding line, but felt let down by the direction Nike took as a brand and disappointing product launches in the sneaker industry as a whole. Then, in need of a pair of shoes while on a trip in Los Angeles, he purchased a pair of NMDs—that's when everything changed.

"I spent $10,000 in a month on Boost," Safarian told Full Size Run. "After I tried them on, I found out how comfortable they were, then I started looking back and I was like oh, there's all these collabs. There's collabs like there used to be with Nike Quickstrike. They're actually like f*cking with the artist. That got me."
