Kyrie Irving launched another sneaker for young athletes this morning, this one connected to a childhood injury. On Friday, he released the Nike Kyrie 3 "Badge of Honor," a black and gum colorway that's available now here.

The sneaker's theme is alluded to most directly via the insole, which reads "No Diving." The story behind the shoes, according to Nike, is that Irving hit his head on the floor of a hotel pool as a kid the night before an AAU championship game. The injury had his playing status uncertain at first, but after some stitches he was able to lead his team to a win.

This Kyrie 3 uses Band-aid-like textures and colors on its Swoosh and tongue tab as a reference to the injury.

These Kyrie 3s will not release in men's sizes. That being said, Irving himself has at times worn adult versions of kids' exclusives like this.
