Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter's friendship extends back to 1995, when they met while Jeter was still playing Arizona Fall League baseball. Since then, Jordan has watched Jeter grow from a young prospect to a peer and a longtime member of the Jordan Brand family. Today marks another celebration of Jeter's greatness, as the New York Yankees will retire his uniform number '2.'

To show his appreciation for Jeter on this momentous day, Jordan penned a letter of praise for Jeter, published on The Players' Tribune earlier today.
