Adidas to Use 'Confirmed' for Online Releases

After having success with the app, Adidas is bringing Confirmed to online releases.

Despite its tremendous growth over the past few years, Adidas still has a problem with online sneaker releases. When hyped up sneakers, particularly Yeezys, are made available through adidas.com, customers sometimes wait hours to see if they'll even be able to bypass the splash page. More often than not, they don't. Now, it appears changes are being made that will, at the very least, eliminate the nauseating wait.

First pointed out by The Yeezy Mafia, Adidas UK is offering the next black Ultra Boost LTD through an online version of Confirmed, the mobile app launched in 2015 for the brand's biggest sneaker releases. Thus far, Confirmed access has been limited to major cities with Adidas hubs, so most haven't enjoyed the benefits. Those who have will tell you that it doesn't really improve your chances at grabbing a pair of sneakers, but you won't be wasting 2-3 hours of your Saturday staring at a splash page.

With that said, it looks like there will still be hurdles to actually buy sneakers. Confirmed UK lists the process as follows:

Step 1: Find your desired product
Step 2: Sign up for the product release
Step 3: Be ready on the release page on the right time
Step 4: Compete for your change to own your exclusive adidas product

So, even with Confirmed, you'll be "competing" to spend your money. It's not perfect, but it is a step in the right direction. As of now, there's no word on when or if Confirmed Online will launch in the U.S., but we'll keep you posted as more information is announced.
