This weekend was a tough one for Isaiah Thomas, the Boston Celtics point guard whose sister died on Saturday morning in a car accident. He still went to work the next day, leading the first-seeded Celtics for their first game of the 2017 NBA Playoffs.

The visibly shaken Thomas honored his sister on his sneakers, which were decorated via Sharpie with her name, the date of her passing, and an "I love you" tribute. The shoes are an exclusive pair of the Nike Kobe AD revealed in February that he wore in the All-Star game.

While the Celtics lost a close game to the Bulls on Sunday, Thomas played 38 minutes in a characteristically excellent performance, earning his team 33 points in the process.
