As Nike owns Converse, the latter has long been able to borrow technology from the former to upgrade the comfort on its heritage silhouettes. It's doing that again on the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star 2, a model that's set to become the first non-Nike shoe to use Flyknit. Jordan Brand, which is also under the Nike Inc. umbrella, has used a similar material called Flyweave on modern performance shoes, but never actual Flyknit.

The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star 2 is an updated version of the original All-Star, this one utilizing a Nike Lunarlon insole for cushioning.

Converse has released knit footwear before, although those weren't built with Nike's Flyknit tech.

While Converse in North America doesn't appear to have announced these shoes yet, its Australian website has them listed as releasing on April 8.
