Asics opened a new pop-up location in New York City's Soho neighborhood last weekend centering around its heritage brand, Onitsuka Tiger. The store aims to display the current style of the Onitsuka Tiger brand while also giving customers a history lesson on its past.
With this pop-up shop Asics hopes to bring Onitsuka Tiger to a different group of customers by offering new products and a storytelling atmosphere. The pop-up will provide customers with retro apparel and footwear options from Tiger and a gallery with relics from its past.
Another major piece of the opening is the stateside debut of the Nippon Made collection, which showcases leather, hand-stitched sneakers produced in Japan. Two models of the Mexico 66 runner make up the collection, one with navy Asics branding and the other in red and royal blue. Both retail for $300.
The store, located at at 92 Mercer St. in Soho, will be open through December, 2017.
