In 1978, New Balance created the 990, a silhouette that is regarded as one of the brand's best sneaker. Now, as New Balance is in the midst of revamping its brand with more domestic production, a new sneaker is debuting in honor of the 990.
Simply named the New Balance MADE 1978, the sneakers are an innovative take on the original 990 concepts with a focus on modern silhouettes and manufacturing methods. Using a combination of premium suede and leather on a three-piece upper, the New Balance MADE 1978 features a sleek and stylish design. Perforated details are found on the N logo and toe box. Just like the original 990s, the MADE 1978 uses a Vibram sole for a combination of lightweight and durability.
The New Balance MADE 1978 is scheduled to release on March 18 for $150 at New Balance and other select retailers.
