One of the best players in the nation, Allonzo Trier has led his Arizona Wildcats to the Sweet 16. This season, the sophomore standout is averaging 17 points and 5 rebounds per game, and he's putting up his numbers in the flashiest sneakers on the court.

If you follow our nightly #SoleWatch posts on Twitter and Instagram, you're very familiar with Trier's sneaker game. On most nights, he's lacing up rare pairs from Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Kevin Durant's signature Nike lines. In a January game against Washington State, he famously played in James' original signature model from 2004.

12 News' Cameron Cox recently had the opportunity to talk sneakers with Trier, even getting some insight from teammates on his massive collection. The stash, reportedly more than 200 pairs, makes it difficult to even enter his room. Beyond those pairs, Trier has more set aside in what he calls "The Vault."

"My other collection that I have hidden that people don't know about," said Trier about his sneaker vault. "I take them down to the garage and say, 'Hey, let's go take out the vault.' "

While he's serious about his kicks, Trier makes sure friends and teammates don't go without.  He's known to let them borrow pairs from his collection from time to time, which isn't always the case with collectors.

Most recently, Trier played in the "5 Rings" Nike Kobe 5. See what he has planned for the 'Cats Sweet 16 game when they tip-off against Xavier this Thursday.
