In bringing Paul George up the signature sneaker level, Nike decided to revamp his logo. George's debut sig model, the Nike PG1, features a bowtie-shaped mark on the tongue that the brand says serves as "a reminder of his unique blend of simplicity and sophistication." The example of this offered is that while George drives a Ferrari, he keeps a fishing rod in the backseat for impromptu angling.
His love of fishing is also referenced on the shoe, which has a scaly traction pattern on bottom. What's more, the limited "2K17" pair even has a bobber on the tongue.
Nike breaks down the design of George's shoe in detail in a new piece here.
The first global launch for the PG1 will be the "Ferocity" colorway matching the Indiana Pacers palette. Ahead of that, the "Shining" pair pictured below will release on Feb. 25 via Nike SNKRS.
