While leaks of Paul George's first Nike shoe have been circulating since the summer, the brand has been quiet on what's to come for the Pacers small forward on the signature shoe front. That changed yesterday as Trevor Edwards, Nike's brand president, mentioned the model during an earnings call.
"With the upcoming launch of our first new signature shoe in years, the Paul George 1, get ready for even more consumer and commercial energy in Nike Basketball over the next few months," Edwards said.
While the sneaker in question was originally rumored to release in August, it's clear at this point that it won't arrive until 2017.
Although Edwards calls the shoe the Paul George 1, leaks have suggested that the official model name will be the Nike PG 1.
