One might wonder what chickens have to do with the history of New Balance or sneakers in general. Well, legend has it that New Balance founder William J. Riley came up with the company name by observing chickens in his yard and often demonstrated the way his arch supports worked with a chicken foot he kept in his desk. He explained that the chicken's three-claw foot made for perfect balance.
New Balance's latest Made in UK release draws inspiration from chickens, paying tribute to Riley's humble beginnings and is comprised of five silhouettes: the EPICTR, M991.5, M577, M1500 and M576.
The New Balance Made in UK "Yard Pack" will release in two parts. The EPICTR and M991.5 will drop on December 31, while the remaining M577, M1500 and M576 will drop on January 14.
