How long can you stash a pair of sneakers away before you have to worry about them falling to pieces? It all depends on the sneaker and the conditions where it's stored. That being said, it's still troubling to see relatively recent grails like 2001's "Linen" Nike Air Force 1 already deteriorating. In the above clip from Woody of Sneaker Freaker fame, an original pair's sole comes right off.
The good news is that this Air Force 1 style is coming back this year, although it's only releasing at the newly opened Kith Miami. The 2016 release appears to be a reasonably limited one—Kith will launch 50 pairs of the sneaker in special Futura boxes, and an additional, unknown amount are being distributed in more nondescript black Nike boxes.
