Anthony Davis' latest Nike is a personal one, the sneaker referencing the tragic death of former Pelicans teammate Bryce Dejean-Jones. The Air Max Audacity's nod to Dejean-Jones is subtle, placing "RIP" and "BDJ" underneath the left and right tongues, respectively. Dejean-Jones was shot dead in May, 2016 after kicking down the door of an apartment he mistakenly thought to be his ex-girlfriend's.
Other personal details appear on the tongue, which calls out Anthony Davis and has a pretty clever mark representing the Pelicans and his unibrow. Aside from that the colorway is a fairly straightforward team-based one in navy and red.
The Air Max Audacity is not a signature shoe for Davis, but has been his go-to for a minute now.
