See How Nike's Self-Lacing Shoes Work

An in-depth look at the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 with Nike Innovator Tiffany Beers.

The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is a special kind of sneaker— it laces itself. In a world where laces needed to be tied and Velcro needed to be strapped, auto laces is the definition of sneaker innovation. Nike's adaptive lacing system automatically tightens down to the foot and self-adjusts if needed as you walk.

It might be hard to understand just how the technology works without actually trying it, so starting this week Nike+ members will be able to test the sneakers out at Nike SoHo and the Nike+ Clubhouse at 45 Grand St. If you can't make it to an in-store location, here's the next best thing.

Watch as Sole Collector's own Rich "Maze" Lopez sits down with Nike Innovator Tiffany Beers on Facebook Live to discuss all things Nike HyperAdapt and to show how the technology works.
