Can Klay Thompson's signature sneaker line ever overcome that unfortunate viral moment of him looking unenthusiastic about his first model? Anta, the brand behind Thompson's footwear line, claims to have already done so: the brand said this summer that it had sold 650,000 pairs of the shoes. It will look to build on that success with this, the Anta KT2, its second signature model for the Golden State Warriors three-point specialist.
The shoe makes its debut this week in two colorways—the "Whitehawk" and "Blackhawk"—that both wear Warriors colors.
In a press release, Anta said that it plans to expand its offerings in the U.S. to include more than just basketball shoes.
"Ultimately, we are a lifestyle brand that believes in the magic of movement, and a life lived actively and fully present in every step, every rep, every shot…every moment," said Brent James, the president and CEO of Anta America. "We see our products playing a critical role for this active lifestyle, and we design with a mindset of delivering products that become irreplaceable to our customers."
