Kendrick Lamar will complete his "Red and Blue" series of shoes with Reebok this month via a pair that literally mixes the component colors together. The Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Classic Leather Lux adds to the unifying theme of the collection by taking red and blue to make green.
Lamar's red and blue footwear references the Bloods and Crips gangs in his native Compton and attempts to bring together the rival groups with a positive message.
"In Compton, we have a saying that ‘mixing Red and Blue makes Green.’ While ‘green’ is usually thought of in a monetary respect here, this shoe represents a new definition of ‘green’ - community growth," Lamar explained via press release. "If we work together, we can break down barriers and prosper."
The Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Classic Leather Lux in green will release on Black Friday (Nov. 25) in unisex and kid's sizes.
