On Tuesday, Adidas announced its signing of Knicks center Kristaps Porzingis. The Latvian big man was previously signed to Nike and became a sneaker free agent this summer.
Porzingis explained his decision to sign with the Three Stripes in a statement included in the press release announcing his new deal.
"I'm happy to be here and it just felt right to be with Adidas. There's a lot of excitement right now, and I feel like it's the right fit for me," said Porzingis. "A city like New York is hungry for success in basketball, and I believe Adidas will help take my game to the next level."
Per a press release, Porzingis will wear the Adidas Crazy Explosive for the 2016-17 season.
