See the Patriotic Cleats NFL Players Wore for 9/11

NFL players use their footwear to remember 9/11 victims.

NFL players across the league used their footwear on Sunday to pay tribute to the victims of 9/11. On the fifteenth anniversary of the tragedy, which coincided with the first Sunday of the new season, players like Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz wore special cleats in red, white, and blue.

The video here from ESPN rounds up pairs spotted on-feet for those and other athletes.

In most cases these designs look to be custom ones (those for the aforementioned Giants were done by Kickasso), with their hand-painted graphics going far beyond what one normally sees on this sort of footwear.

Shoes like this have been around since 2001, when Kobe Bryant wore a patriotic pair of adidas as a tribute to those who lost their lives on Sep. 11, 2001.
