Alex Rodriguez 700 Home Run Cleats

With little left to give to the club, Alex Rodriguez announced the end of his tenure with the New York Yankees last week. He played his final game in pinstripes against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, ending a 13-year stint filled with milestones and controversy.

Rodriguez also finished his time in New York with 696 career home runs — four short of joining the 700 home run club that only includes Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. For the occasion, there was a special pair of cleats being made for Rodriguez to wear in celebration.

Noted customizer Mache unveiled his unworn creation on Instagram earlier today. Inspired by a Louisville Slugger baseball bat, the Nike Air Huarache Pro Low cleats are blacked out, with contrasting details pulled directly from Rodriguez's preffered piece of lumber. Mache also added a custom A-Rod "Swingman" logo to the heel.

Though his time with the Yankees is over, there's still speculation that Rodriguez could catch on with another team in the future for one more run. If he does, maybe these custom cleats will have a second chance to see the diamond.
