When we first saw the "Tennis Ball" D Lillard 2 over the summer, we knew it was a special sneaker, but what wasn't clear was if the fluorescent kicks would actually release. Now, we're learning that not only are they getting an official release, but you'll be able to cop them as soon as tomorrow.
The adidas D Lillard 2 "Tennis Ball" ditches the model's usual Primeknit construction for a felt-like neon green upper, but it retains the seamless tongue, Bounce cushioning, and grippy Continental outsole that make the sneaker such a strong performer.
This eye-catching colorway was first debuted in July, when Lillard—as rapping alter-ego Dame D.O.L.L.A.—played a sold out concert in Portland.
"The reason I wanted make and wear those shoes at my first show was all for my family. When we were kids, we used to play all types of games on these tennis courts around the corner from my grandma's house in Brookfield. When all my cousins and family came out on stage with me, it was like we were back on those tennis courts again," Lillard said.
The adidas D Lillard 2 "Tennis Ball" will be available exclusively from NYC's Foot Locker 34th Street location tomorrow, August 30, for $105.
