Custom cleats continue to populate MLB games, with players using their footwear as canvases that send messages beyond the standard brand colorways. Over the weekend, Los Angeles Dodger Yasiel Puig used his to nod to a legend who's long been the voice of his team.

Puig wore the Nike Huarache baseball cleats above, which feature the likeness of sportscasting legend Vin Scully and the phrase "Win for Vin."

Puig's cleats were designed by artist Albert Martinez, who goes by Minutiae Customs on Instagram.

Nike has at times warned sponsored players against wearing custom cleats, even threatening to terminate their contracts for doing so.
