An adidas x Nike collaboration is the kind of thing that you can be sure will never, ever, ever happen. But, that didn't stop one person in New York City from whipping up shirts featuring the logos of the rival sportswear brands side by side and selling them.

Rapper Shirt, who put the project together, was forced to keep the whole thing very secretive after receiving a cease and desist letter from Nike in April, 2016. In an interview with High Snobiety, he explains his reaction to the letter.

"It was scary but I don’t make counterfeit Nike product," he says. "That’s silly. It’s clear this is an art project, that I’m an artist, and no one is trying to pull the wool over people’s eyes."

He went ahead and sold the product anyway, setting up for just one day at the MX Gallery in New York City and screening buyers beforehand.
