Earlier this month, MLB's Twitter account praised Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig's custom Vin Scully Nike cleats. Now, the league is threatening to fine him for wearing them.

According to CBS LA, Puig recently received a letter informing him that a $5,000 fine would be imposed should he continue to wear the cleats. A tribute to the Dodgers' legendary broadcaster, who will be retiring after this season, the cleats feature his image on the sides, along with the phrase, "Win for Vin." Apparently, the issue isn't with Scully's image, but rather the colored Swoosh near the toe.

Puig has worn custom cleats in the past, but this is the first time he's been hit with the threat of a fine for a uniform violation because of them.
