It's almost time for fireworks, and what better shop to celebrate Independence Day than D.C.'s own Major?
Ahead of the 4th of July festivities, Major has unveiled a new collaboration on the Reebok Phase 1 silhouette. These Phase 1s are packed with patriotic details including a striking red suede upper, striped laces, and glow-in-the-dark stars at the heel.
As attention-grabbing as these are, one of the coolest features of the Major x Reebok Phase 1 "Stars and Stripes" can't be seen with the naked eye. This collaboration uses a smart chip from tech company Chronicled that allows owners to scan the sneakers with a smartphone to verify their authenticity.
"Chronicled is developing a technology that may finally be able to solve this problem, and we’re excited to be early partners in this effort," Major owner Duk-ki Yu said.
The "Stars and Stripes" Major x Reebok Phase 1s release tomorrow, July 2 exclusively from Major in store and online.
