One of the most important moments of Allen Iverson's career as a sneaker endorser and his emergence as a cultural icon, Reebok paired the reigning MVP with rapper Jadakiss for a commercial to launch the Answer 5 in 2001. As organic an on-screen partnership as there's even been in the industry, Kiss, arguably the hottest rapper at the time, dropped bars over a backing track composed of dribbles, sneaker squeaks and swishes. The spot resonated with young sneakerheads and hoop fans who felt there was finally campaign that they could related to.
Fifteen years later, and for the 20th Anniversary of the model, Reebok commemorates its famous commercial with a special Jadakiss-inspired "A5" colorway of the Question. The shoe inherits the spot's black and grey motif, as well as the vibrant flashes of red.
Retailers expect to release the "A5" Question on Friday, Aug. 12.
