Yeezy might have the streets on lock, but Costco's Kirkland Signature sneakers are running the Internet.
At least, that's what John Mayer and Instagram user Jack Wagner (@versace_tamagotchi) would lead you to believe. It's hard to say exactly how or why this craze came about, but it all seems to have started last week when Wagner posted the clunky, Nike Air Monarch-esque kicks.
"New Kirkland 11's just dropped," Wagner wrote. "Size 9-13 $700 cash only hmu on KIK cash only need to move these fast."
It seems like the post was originally intended to poke fun at resellers, but it's since taken on a life of its own. Wagner stayed committed, flexing in the Kirklands throughout the week, and eventually Mayer got in on the fun and provided some feedback.
"Thanks @versace_tamagotchi for selling me this BNIB pair of Kirkland 11s. $700 well spent. Smooth transaction, power seller, would definitely do business again A++++," Mayer wrote.
