As 2016's "Banned" Jordan 1 release approaches, sneaker collectors across the globe are no doubt wondering how the shoe compares to previous editions. In an effort to enlighten that crowd, we got our hands on the shoes ahead of their release for a video breakdown.
In the clip above, you can see this year's pair pitted against the 1985 original and the 2013 "Nike Air" release. The comparison isn't comprehensive–there are plenty more black/red Jordan 1s to release in the 31 years since the style's debut–but is definitely informative for anyone looking forward to the 2016 pair.
