Vans has announced the grand-prize winning high school of this year's Custom Culture contest.

The 2016 Vans Custom Culture design competition saw entires from high schools all over the country, and was eventually narrowed down to a field of five finalists. Those five schools were invited to the MAMA Gallery in Los Angeles earlier this week, where Edison, N.J.'s John P. Stevens High School was awarded the grand prize.

The school's designs were inspired by New Jersey diners, with burgers, milkshakes, and even a jukebox represented in sneaker form. As the grand-prize winners, the school received a $50,000 donation to its arts education program, and there will also be an opportunity to have the shoes produced and sold at actual Vans stores.
