These days, much of the buzz around Under Armour is about Steph Curry's signature sneakers, but now the brand is looking to get involved in fashion, too.

Today, Under Armour announced that it's appointed designer Tim Coppens as the Executive Creative Director of its new Under Armour Sportswear (UAS) brand. The collection will still focus on performance sportswear, but with a more fashion-forward edge and lifestyle direction. It will include men's and women's apparel, along with footwear and accessories.

"Together, we are creating a unique collection for the Beyond Ambitious generation–the young and determined professional," Under Armour Senior VP of Sportswear Ben Pruess said of the partnership with Coppens. "UAS is optimized for their life, helping them rise above the variable conditions of every day."

Coppens chimed in with his thoughts: "There is a desire for something new; a new twist on an American sportswear brand that allows the ambitious generation to go longer, faster and harder with intuitive product and a modern style."

The UAS line is set for a Fall 2016 launch and can be found at UASportswear.com, Under Armour's Chicago and New York Brand Houses, and select fashion retailers.
