Cristiano Ronaldo's soccer boots have inspired Nike lifestyle shoes, running shoes, and even a few Kobe sneakers, but one category we've yet to see CR7's flair appear on is training footwear—until now.
First previewed at the top of the year, the Trainer Ultrafast Flyknit is one of the more visually experimental Nike sneakers in recent memory. It features an upper composed of a chain-like Flyknit and has been equipped with an underfoot propulsion plate—the sort of thing you'd traditionally find on a basketbal sneaker—for high levels of responsiveness in the gym.
According to Nike, the goal of the Trainer Ultrafast Flyknit was to emulate the things Ronaldo loves about his boots on the pitch and create the lightest and fastest training sneaker in the brand's arsenal.
The Nike Trainer Ultrafast Flyknit releases next week on June 15 in six colorways from nike.com and select Nike Training retailers.
