Two heavyweights of the sporting world collide with the official unveiling of the Neymar Jr. x Jordan Brand collection.

The collection features three footwear components including the previously seen Air Jordan 5 Retro Low and the Nike Hypervenom II in both cleat and indoor/court form. With this collection, Neymar Jr. becomes the first soccer player to feature the Jumpman on performance product as well as the first non-Jordan Brand athlete to be featured in one its collections.

The Air Jordan 5 Retro is Neymar's favorite Jordan model and some of its details - namely its jet fighter shark teeth on the forefoot - is similar to the details on his current Nike Hypervenom II model. Nathan VanHook, Nike Football Sr. Design Director, led the collection's design efforts and worked on combining features from both silhouettes. Additional details include the Jordan 5's reflective tongue being communicated on the Hypervenom's Swoosh while the Jordan 5 Low's upper gets the full-reflective treatment.

At the request of Neymar, and as a sign of his mutual respect for Michael Jordan, all three models feature Neymar's number "10" and Michael Jordan's "23" embroidered on the back heels. A lock-up of both Neymar's logo and the Jumpman serves as the collection's central design component and is utilized on the shoe's insoles as well as its packaging.

The NJR x Jordan Brand Collection makes its debut today on the Nike Football app with global availability on Nike.com beginning on Friday, June 3.
