Today, Twitter decided to launch a Chef Curry-like attack on Andrew Wiggins' upcoming adidas Crazy Explosive Player Exclusives. The consensus is that they look more like hiking boots than hoop shoes, but are they really that bad? Absolutely not.

Standard product shots aren't doing much for the new high-top silhouette. which features Primeknit construction, an extended GeoFit bootie, rope-style lacing and full-length Boost cushioning. These pairs are decked out in "Home" and "Away" Minnesota Timberwolves-inspired colorways with Wiggins' "AW" logo on the tongues.

The Crazy Explosive continues a shift in design for adidas' basketball category, which is embracing a much needed shakeup. Recently leaked models indicate that elements from the hot Originals lifestyle category are being slowly integrated into basketball performance — this very well could have been a Boost-loaded Tubular.

Stores will begin carrying the Crazy Explosive sometime in August. Expect the Wiggins PEs to hit retail as the NBA season begins in October.
