What does adidas have in response to Nike locking up likely first-overall 2016 NBA Draft pick Ben Simmons with an endorsement deal? A freshly-signed crop of rookies that have a good amount of potential star power between them.

Today, adidas announced that it's signed draft prospects Brandon Ingram, Jaylen Brown, Jamal Murray, Dragan Bender, and Kris Dunn. All five of these players will likely be selected in the top ten of this year's draft.

The most exciting name in the group is no doubt Ingram, who just might end up in a big market with the Lakers if he becomes the number two pick to Simmons (The latter has been informed by the Philadelphia 76ers that they'll be taking him first overall, ESPN reports).

Adidas Basketball's general manager, Chris Gancio, said that these young players will have the opportunity to weigh in on the design process at the brand.

"It’s no secret that at adidas players have a voice to share ideas and insights that will create the best basketball gear in the world," he said, via press release. "We’re proud to welcome them to our family and we look forward to getting started."
