While a Space Jam sequel starring LeBron James is confirmed, not everyone is on board with the idea. Joe Pytka, director of the original Space Jam, told the Hollywood Reporter the film is a bad idea.

"Don't do it, he said. "It's doomed."

Pytka pointed out that Michael Jordan was definitively the biggest basketball player in the world at the time of Space Jam's release, while James has already been overtaken by Stephen Curry in popularity.

Pytka also said that the supporting cast of NBA stars just isn't there.

"When we did Space Jam, there was a perfect storm of players and ex-players available — Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing...there are none around like that now."

Pytka's comments probably aren't going to dissuade the designer at Nike who's likely at work right now on the "Space Jam" LeBron 15s.
