The Hall of Famer doesn't care about the jokes.

As the author of a post clowning Shaquille O'Neal's line of knockoff sneakers, it's easy to acknowledge that there are things more important than getting a joke off. And while I still think there's humor in rip-offs of existing designs, the fact that Shaq is putting sneakers on the feet of less fortunate kids leaves a much stronger impression on me than the way they look.

Not concerned with the slander his budget sneakers receive online, Shaq took to his Facebook account earlier tonight to share a message with his fans. The big fella posted a photo of himself standing next to his sneakers at Wal-Mart, along with the caption, "Laugh all you want, the Shaq brand has sold over 120 millions pairs of affordable shoes for kids at Walmart."

That's a strong number for O'Neal, who has been selling his Dunkman sneakers at Wal-Mart and other affordable retailers since 2004. His footwear is currently listed from $10 - $32 at walmart.com.

This week, O'Neal was officially elected to join the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for all of the amazing things he did on the court. The dunks, broken backboards and championships pale in comparison to what he's doing off the court — much respect.
