Nike cut its ties with boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao over homophobic comments he made earlier this year, but that's not stopping him from wearing their shoes.

According to Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach, the boxer will be be wearing Nike for his upcoming bout with Timothy Bradley, PhilStar reports.

"I would guarantee he’d wear them for the fight. That’s what he’s used to and that’s what he likes," Roach said this week.

Since the termination of his Nike contract, Pacquiao has worn a mix of Nike and Under Armour apparel and footwear. While the fighter doesn't have a new endorsement contract yet, his trainer Roach claims to have received 22 pairs of shoes from Under Armour. But, Under Armour said in February that it wasn't in talks with Pacquiao.

Roach says that Japanese sportswear brand Mizuno has sent shoes to Pacquiao.

The Pacquaio-Bradley bout, which will be the third meeting between the fighters, is scheduled for April 9.
