The most electric fighter in all of boxing right now, Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin signed an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand earlier this month. Tonight, he hit the ring for the first time as a member of the Jumpman family.
Golovkin, 35-0, squared off against Dominic Wade in a middleweight title bout. As he's known to do, he scored a knockout victory over the previously undefeated upstart in Round 2 — the 32nd knockout of his career.
Those who caught the action may have noticed Golovkin wearing a pair of black, blue and yellow "Jordan" boxing boots. It turns out that they're the work of top sneaker customizer Mache, who with limited time, successfully transformed a pair of Golovkin's usual Nike HyperKO boots. Like fellow Team Jordan boxer Andre Ward, Golovkin will probably be receiving exclusive boots the next time he fights — possibly a megafight against Canelo Alvarez.
