According to Vans' parent company, VF Corporation, the "Damn Daniel" meme had a real effect on its sales of white sneakers.

The company that owns the action sports footwear brand attributed sell-through rates of the sneakers to the viral moment in its Q1 2016 earnings report.

"How could we not mention Daniel?" said VFC's president of international business, Karl Salzburger, during the company's earnings call on Friday. "As in Damn Daniel, as in damn, Daniel, which as you can imagine, did have been a strong impact on the sales of white Vans, which saw a 100 percent sell-through in both detail, D2C and wholesale channels."

Vans already gave Daniel a lifetime supply of sneakers, but maybe they need to cut him a check as well.
