Here's How Under Armour Motivates Employees to Beat Nike

A message from the brand's campus.

From Under Armour's on-campus gym at its Baltimore headquarters.

While Under Armour is still a long way from catching up to Nike in the race for global sportswear dominance, at least its employees have the benefit of a three-hour head start on each day.

A reminder of that appears in the brand's company gym at its headquarters in Baltimore, where the phrase "They're still sleeping in Beaverton" appears on the wall, Beaverton of course being the location of Nike's world headquarters in Oregon.

Under Armour's headquarters on the East Coast is three hours ahead of Nike's on the West, hence the latter "still sleeping" when UA starts its day.

Words like "young," "agressive" and "fearless" also decorate the walls at the gym and serve as a reflection of brand ethos.

Under Armour's corporate gym is a 35,000 square foot space that's open to the public for $65 a month.
