When it comes to on-court footwear, Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha tends to play by his own rules. Earlier this season, he made headlines when he took the court in the Nike Air Max 1 Mid, an updated version of the iconic runner with an extended collar. While not ideal, the mid-top at least gave Sefolosha some extra support for performance, but now he's playing in straight up runners.
In recent outings, including tonight's game against the Washington Wizards, Sefolosha has worn the Nike Air Max 90 — not the mid, the actual Air Max 90. With 26 years of technological advances, runners probably aren't doing anything serious in the Air Max 90, much less a basketball player making cuts on a court. But again, Sefolosha plays by his own rules.
Tonight, he had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal in the Hawks' 122-101 victory.
