Packer Shoes references its New Jersey home on this, its latest sneaker collaboration with New Balance.
The project takes the New Balance MT580 and equips it with a spooky look intended to represent the New Jersey Devil, a mythical creature said to reside in the Pine Barrens of the Garden State. To further the theme on the project, Packer created a mini horror movie accompanying the shoe's launch.
While the angle isn't played up, this is something of an anniversary celebration as 2016 marks 20 years since the debut of the MT580.
Watch for the Packer Shoes x New Balance MT80 "Pine Barrens" (limited to 500 pairs globally) to launch on Friday, March 25, for $150 exclusively at Packer Shoes both in-store and online at noon EST. Releasing alongside the sneakers is a matching set of apparel created in conjunction with Japanese brand Lafayette.
