For Vans' 50th anniversary this year, the skate shoe company will pull from its archive and bring back cherished shoes like its "Checkerboard" styles.
The reissues it has planned aren't straight retros though — these pairs take things from printed graphics to actual woven leather uppers. The Vans Slip-On ($140) and Vans Sk8 Hi ($175) will get the treatment, with three colorways planned for the former and four planned for the latter.
The "Checkered Past" collection will launch on March 16, Vans' 50th birthday. The sneakers will be available in the U.S. at Vans DQM General, Barneys, Blends, Bodega, Bows & Arrows, Conveyor, Dover Street Market, Feature, Fice, Hot Rod, Kicks Hi, Kicks Hi/Guam, Kith, Nice Kicks, Opening Ceremony, Pilgrim Surf Supply, Proper, Saint Alfred, Shoe Gallery, Sole Classics, The Darkside Initiative, The Webster, Today Clothing, Undefeated and Wish
