After losing his endorsement deal with Nike, boxer Manny Pacquiao was recently spotted playing basketball in Under Armour sneakers, fueling speculation that he was in talks to join the brand. However, according to brand officials, that's not the case.
"Under Armour is not in conversation with Manny Pacquiao," a rep told TMZ.
In a statement to the International Business Times, Pacquiao's agent Arnold Vegafria confirmed that there is no deal with Under Armour, but says his client is in talks with other sportswear brands.
Pacquiao lost his Nike deal after making anti-gay remarks earlier this month. With his boxing career nearing its end, it'll be interesting to see if any major companies feel his services are worth the inevitable backlash.
