For tonight's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, James Harden is wearing a pair of his all-white adidas Crazylight Boost 2015 sneakers with hand-drawn speckles along the side panels. While this may appear to be a lazy Yeezy 350 custom effort, it's actually part of an innovative program adidas is using to help Harden improve the fit and build of his future sneakers.

In a video shared by adidas, designers utilize the pattern on Harden's shoes to track his movement, providing them with feedback on the cushioning, stability and traction that suits Harden for future models.

While a release date hasn't been announced, Harden did speak to us about his upcoming signature sneaker in an interview earlier this month.

"It’s in the process right now. I want my first shoe to be well thought of and not just have the adidas symbol on it," said Harden.
