Jordan Brand has drawn inspiration from seemingly all facets of life for its sneakers over the decades—everything from African tribal art to fighter jets to even lawnmowers have all had a hand in shaping the retro Js that we all know and love so dearly. So it should come as no surprise that the inspiration behind the latest Jumpman release, the Jordan Retro 12 “Master,” is a poster from back in ’96 featuring none other than the legend himself, Michael Jordan.
The predominantly black colorway, with white and gold accents artistically placed throughout, is a direct nod to the masterful skill and personality of His Airness. The shoe has been further elevated with a luxe leather construction, falling in line with the Retro Remaster treatment that select Js have been receiving in recent years. One of the most anticipated drops of the year, the Retro 12 “Master” will be accompanied by the Jordan 1 Flight 3, as well as a collection of matching apparel courtesy of The Game Plan by Champs Sports. Included are the Jordan Flight Cap, Jordan Flight Diamond Shorts, as well as a couple of tees brandishing all of the appropriate Jumpman markings. The entire apparel collection hits shelves on February 27, alongside the release of the Retro 12 “Master,” so be sure to add it to your “cop” list.
