Editors' Picks: The Best Sneakers Of The Month

When I first saw the Flyknit Air Force 1, I must admit that I was a bit skeptical. However, the Flyknit Air Force 1 is surprisingly light, and is a solid every day sneaker by-the-door pair. It's proof that remixing a classic silhouette with Flyknit is never a bad thing.

I finally got myself a pair of Sock Darts. The shoe's been eluding me for a mintue; the GR colorways were too bright for my tastes and the limited ones just weren't that easy to get. The fleece pair filled that hole for me, even if the purple on this pair is a bit much. My runner-up this month is the hoard of Nike Air Force 1 retros that I picked up on Nikestore's most recent 20 percent off clearance event.

Retro Air Jordan colorways have been used to tell every story imaginable, but at the end of they day, they either look good or they don’t. The story behind “The Master” 12, and the poster that inspired it, happen to be interesting ones, but ultimately had nothing to do with my interest in the shoe. As it turns out, a mostly black Air Jordan 12 doesn’t need any back story at all to look just fine.

With so many “Northern Lights” sneakers dropping this season, adidas was able to separate itself from the pack by adding its reflective, color-shifting Xeno technology to James Harden’s Crazylight Boost 2.5. The mid-season model is a natural progression of the Crazylight Boost 2015, which was one of last year’s best overall sneakers. Boost’s success has been evident for a while, but now adidas’ basketball category is starting to find a fresh identity in design. Consequently, Harden’s shoe was the best on the court in Toronto and the best added to my collection this month.
