Adidas Basketball treks toward the Great White North for NBA All-Star 2016. Drawing inspiration from the northern lights of Canada, the “Aurora Borealis” collection blends glow-in-the-dark details, colorful knits, and generous servings of adidas’ popular Boost cushioning technology in three premier basketball models: the Crazylight Boost 2.5, D Lillard 2 and D Rose 6.

The collection’s entrancing Primeknit uppers allow for a new level of visual storytelling, using complex patterns and textures to simulate the majesty of the northern lights. That doesn’t mean it’s all flash. Primeknit serves as a performance upgrade, too.

“The cool thing about Primeknit is that you get to tune it down to the last thread,” said Brian Foresta, adidas Vice President of Basketball Design. “When you’re knitting uppers, we can build structure and build in breathability where we need it.”
