The most fundamentally sound players in the league were on display when the NBA hosted its 2016 Skills Challenge earlier tonight.

This year, the format was changed to make room for big men, which is a good call considering the evolution of skillsets for larger players. The decision proved to be the right one, as Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Karl-Anthony Towns won the big man bracket before upsetting guard Isaiah Thomas in the final.

Towns brought home his first professional trophy in a team-issued colorway of the Nike Hyperfuse 2014. The other competitors wore sneakers that were just a little more interesting — see them all below in this special edition of #SoleWatch.
