Moments ago, Nike officially unveiled the Kobe 11, the latest in its long line of signature sneakers for Kobe Bryant.
While the shoe looks simple enough at first glance, it has a litany of subtle tech advantages. The Flyknit this time around is stronger than ever before, featuring thermoplastic polyurethane threads. There is Zoom Air again embedded in the heel. There's a mesh tongue to allow the wearer a heightened level of breathability.
The sneaker was designed by Eric Avar, who's long helmed development for Kobe's Nike footwear.
The first-up colorway for the Kobe 11 is the "Achilles Heel" pictured here, which releases globally on Jan. 9, 2016.
